What's New

A running log of feature updates, improvements, and fixes shipped to Projecteria.

November 2026

This release adds email notifications for deviation conversations, with a one-click way to opt out, along with easier voice notes and attachments on mobile and simpler access management.

New Features & Enhancements

  • Email notifications for deviations: Everyone with a stake in a contract is now emailed when a deviation conversation gets a new message or action, including client and inspector replies, proposals, and requests for further action. The sender gets a copy too.
  • Resolved, closed, and reopened emails: A dedicated email now goes out when a deviation is resolved, closed, or needs further action, in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
  • Jump to the message: The button in each email opens the report straight on the Communications tab, scrolled to and highlighting the message.
  • Unsubscribe from a report: Turn email notifications off for any report with a single toggle on the web, or straight from the unsubscribe link in the email.
  • Hold to record: Record voice notes on mobile by holding the microphone button, and release to finish.
  • Simpler attachments on mobile: Choosing photos and documents to attach now takes fewer steps.
  • Better photo editor: A cleaner layout and clearer controls when annotating and cropping photos on mobile.
  • Who created the report: The mobile report details now show the person who created it.
  • Searchable team pickers: Add team members and inspector companies using searchable dropdowns, and client admins can pick a contractor manager from the contractor company.

Security & Reliability

  • Attachments can only be added to a conversation message by its author, and only if the message belongs to that report.
  • Deep links now survive an expired session: after signing in again you land on the page you originally opened.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed reports that were already resolved being closable again.
  • Fixed audio recording in mobile report communications.
  • Fixed a visual glitch in the communications view.
October 2026

This release introduces a custom in-app photo editor with non-destructive cropping, biometric unlock, mobile report editing, duplicate-proof submissions, and localized user invitations.

New Features & Enhancements

  • Custom in-app photo editor: Annotate and crop photos directly in the mobile app with drawing tools, resizable aspect-ratio grid framing, and full undo/redo history.
  • Edit reports on mobile: Update comments, weather conditions, workers on site, and manage photo and document attachments directly from the mobile app.
  • Searchable report filters: Quickly filter reports by project and contract using responsive typeahead selectors, with automatic project-contract linking and offline support.
  • Biometric security: Enable fingerprint or Face ID unlock on mobile for quick and secure access after app launch or inactivity.
  • Password manager support: Android app now prompts to save login credentials to Google Password Manager and compatible autofill services.
  • User language on invite: Administrators can choose the preferred language (English, Spanish, Portuguese) when creating users, ensuring setup emails arrive in their language.
  • Polished first-time setup: Redesigned set-password flow with clean layout styling and dedicated account setup instructions.
  • Independent deviation workflow: Inspectors and clients can resolve, close, or request further action on a deviation at any point without waiting for the contractor. Resolved or closed deviations can be reopened with a recorded reason.
  • Fuller conversation history: Resolution, closure, and reopen notes, plus workflow events, now appear in the deviation conversation on web and mobile.
  • Further action without a proposal: Inspectors can require further action on a deviation without waiting for a contractor proposal.
  • Faster mobile pickers: Project and contract selectors load instantly from a local cache that refreshes in the background, with a relative last-sync label.
  • Inspectors can edit their own reports directly from the mobile report detail screen.
  • Simpler navigation: Report breadcrumbs are consistent in every view, work when opening a report from a direct link, and the top bar logo now returns to the feed.

Security & Reliability

  • Idempotent submissions: Network retries, offline syncing, and double-clicks no longer duplicate comments, photos, or observations.
  • Reliable mobile sessions: Expired tokens refresh seamlessly upon app launch, and transient network errors no longer sign users out.
  • High-fidelity audio recording: Upgraded mobile audio recorder with automatic backend AAC-to-MP4 transcoding for seamless AI transcription.
  • Google Play compliance: Stripped broad media storage permissions from the Android app in favor of the secure system photo picker.
  • Deterministic pagination: Guaranteed consistent ordering when browsing paginated lists of projects, contracts, and reports.
  • Access-aware data: Contract report counts and mobile contract and project sync now include only what each user is allowed to see.
  • Resilient offline sync: Incremental syncs no longer wipe or degrade the local cache, and server changes to observations and attachments are applied correctly when conflicts occur.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed double submission bugs on web and mobile report forms.
  • Fixed mobile report edit screen losing plain-text comment content or overwriting web rich-text formatting.
  • Fixed edge-to-edge layout on Android to remove the dark native action bar above the app header.
  • Fixed unique constraint conflicts when adding or updating weather and worker entries.
  • Fixed the rich text editor resetting the cursor while typing inside tables.
  • Fixed the report form asking to confirm unsaved changes when nothing had changed.
  • Fixed deviation status staying unchanged after a reply: a contractor comment now marks the action as proposed, and an inspector or client comment requires further action.
  • Fixed the saved password not being filled in on the mobile login screen.
  • Fixed the report updated notification appearing untranslated in the edit report view.
September 2026

This release brings rich text editing, more flexible AI-ready exports, clearer report naming, and stronger mobile security.

New Features & Enhancements

  • Rich text editor for observations, communication descriptions, and task notes — headings, bold, italic, lists, links, and tables.
  • AI-context Markdown exports can now embed images directly, so downloaded reports stay fully readable even after original links expire.
  • Clearer report naming: "Site Reports" is now "Daily Field Report" and "Construction Records" is now "Site Log", updated across English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
  • Report start dates can now be edited after creation, and admins can change a report's type when the workflow allows it.
  • View, manage, and remove attachments directly from the report edit screen.
  • The contractor selector in the contract award flow is now a searchable dropdown instead of a plain text field.
  • User activity now tracks last login time, visible in the admin user management table.

Security & Reliability

  • Backend upgraded to the latest Python and library versions with current security patches.
  • Mobile app auth tokens and cached user data moved from local storage to secure device storage.
  • Stricter validation on rich text content to prevent data inconsistencies.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed map markers not showing correctly in production.
  • Fixed language preference reverting after a page refresh.
  • Fixed layout and scrolling issues on narrow mobile screens for contract and project details.
